How does the weighing and payment process work?

Do different types of metal get weighed separately or together?
Most metal types are weighed separately to ensure accurate pricing for each category. Mixed loads are typically sorted on-site, which helps avoid undervaluing higher grade materials. What condition does the metal need to be in for weighing?
